  Facilities in Our Community 

Zama Community Hall Zama Community Hall - The main facility for community functions. Built in 1984 by major fundraising operations. Maintained by the Zama Recreation Society. It features the main hall area, kitchen and bar facilities; and an upstairs meeting area. It also doubles as the school gym. Available for rent for events and meetings.

Zama School Zama City School - The new School was built in 1987 and offers education for children grade 1-9. A High School program Grades 10-12 are operated in partnership with the High Level Learning Store and a their is a designated classroom in the school for this use.

Zama Community Library Zama Community Library - Founded in 1974, we are Alberta's most Northerly Library. Housed in the Mackenzie County office building, see the Community Library page for more details.

Zama Park Zama Community Park - located in the residential area of Zama City, the park features a stocked fish pond (regularly stocked by Fish & Wildlife), horseshoe pits, firepits and picnic areas. Maintained in partnership with Mackenzie County and the Zama Recreation Society.

Zama Campground - Located adjacent to the Community Park. It has some full-serviced stalls, power only stalls and a few non-serviced. Children's playground area, sewer-dump and fire-wood. Maintained in partnership with Mackenzie County and the Zama Recreation Society.

Ball Diamond - The diamond is located behind the School and is maintained by the Fort Vermilion School Division.

Basketball Court - Located on School Property.

Outdoor Skating Rink - The skating rink was re-built in 1999-2000 and is located behind the Community Hall. Full-sized, asphalted rink with heated skating shack. Maintained by the Zama Recreation Society.

Golf Course - in the construction phase, owned and operated by the Zama Biz Club.

Zama Health Unit Health Unit - Located in the residential area, owned and maintained by Northwestern Health Services. Manned once a month with a travelling health nurse. Also doubles as the housing for the on-site medical staff for the Zama Ambulance.

Zama Fire Hall Zama Fire Hall - The three-bay Zama Fire Hall was built in 1989. It is located in the main part of town. Maintained by Mackenzie County and the Zama Fire-Rescue Department.

Emergency Medical Services - supplied by the Mackenzie County in conjunction with Peace Country Health.
